Kettle Corn - Pilgrimage Snacks
A pilgrimage is a journey a pilgrim makes to a sacred place for the purpose of venerating it or to ask for heavenly aid, and ultimately to come to know God better. Christian pilgrimages were first made to sites connected with the birth, life, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. TodayÂ’s pilgrimages may be taken by airplane or car, but the goal is the same as that of seekers trudging down a deserted path centuries ago: like them, we set out on the road to hear the voice of God more clearly, hoping that as we journey our hearts may be opened and our souls healed. Popular pilgrimage sites include:
- Chimayo, New Mexico
- Abbey of Gethsemani, Kentucky
- St. Paul‘s Chapel, New York City
- Basilica de Guadalupe, Mexico City
- Santiago de Compostela, Spain
- Zaragoza, Spain
- Lourdes, France
- Lisieux, France
- Iona, Scotland
- Croagh Patrick, Ireland
- Vatican City, Rome
- Assisi, Italy
- Ephesus, Turkey
- Mt. Sinai and St. CatherineÂ’s Monastery, Egypt
- Jerusalem, Israel
