This rustic wood plaque features "The Madonna and Child" by Marianne Stokes, painted in the early 1900's. It shows Mary holding baby Jesus in front of brambles of thorns.
Marianne Stokes was an Austrian who married an English landscape painter, Adrian Stokes. She became one of the best known female artists in Victorian England.
Our Rustic Wood Plaques are designed, printed and stained to give a rustic, weathered look. They are constructed from a wood composite in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. All sizes are printed on a single board, however larger sizes are printed to look like slats.
