This image of our Blessed Mother was created by Luigi Crosio in 1898. It is referred to as "Refuge of Sinners, Mother Thrice Admirable". The image and our Mother under this title have great devotion in Germany, and are credited with assisting prisoners in the Dachau concentration camp while the country was under Nazi rule.

Schoenstatt means "beautiful place." The Schoenstatt movement is a Marian movement that originated in Bavaria, Germany, and has since spread all over the world. The meaning of the title is multi-valent: Mother of God, Mother of Christ, Mother of all human beings; she is admirable in faith, hope and charity; she was virgin before, in and after the birth of Christ; Child of the Father, Mother of the Son, Spouse of the Holy Spirit.
