These alabaster bookends feature the scene of Jesus calling Paul to be an apostle. Able to keep heavy books in line, they both organize and decorate your home. This pair of bookends makes the perfect personal gift for converts to the Catholic faith, as Paul was, or to anyone with a devotion to this great man who lead so many souls to Christ.
The original artwork is the oil painting, Conversion of St. Paul by contemporary artist Jason Jenicke.
The bookends are made from stone-cast alabaster here in our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. Alabaster is a building and decorating material created from the mineral gypsum that has been used since the time of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It boasts an attractive smooth finish.
Each measures roughly 6" x 8", including the 4"x 6" inset image plaque, and is 3" deep.
Text reads:
"Glorious Saint Paul, Most Zealous Apostle, Martyr for the love of Christ, Give us a deep faith, a steadfast hope, a burning love for our Lord so that we can proclaim with you, "It is no longer I who love, but Christ who lives in me." Help us to witness to the light of Christ amidst the darkness of our days."
