The prayer below her is the beginning to the "Obsecro te", a prayer to the Blessed Virgin frequently found in books of hours from the 15th century on. The excerpt here reads, "Loving devotion the the Virgin Mary. I beseech thee, Holy lady Mary, Mother of God, most pious, daughter of the Most High King, Mother most glorious, Mother-".
