The image shows an illuminated manuscript of the Blessed Virgin crowned in heaven, clothed with the sun with the moon at her feet, holding the Christ Child while angels adore. It is attributed to William Vrelant, a Flemish illuminator from the 1400's.
The hymn below her reads "Devotissia salutatio ad mariam. Salve. Salve virgo virginum stella matutina, Sordidorum criminum vera medicina. Consolatrix hominum qui sunt ruina.".
In English: "A most devout salutation to Mary. Hail! Hail O Virgin of virgins, morning star! the true remedy of our sordid crimes! Consoler of men who are in ruin."
