Catholic Central High School is a Catholic School that is located in the city of Steubenville, Ohio and is operated under the direction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Steubenville, Ohio. It was established in 1930 and was located in downtown Steubenville until 1947 when the first bishop of Steubenville, Bishop John King Mussio, organized the plans for a new high school. After a successful twelve day campaign to raise funds, the old Becker Highway property was purchased and construction began in 1949. The new building was opened in 1950 and graduated 171 boys and girls in 1951. Dean Martin, the famous son of Steubenville, and Frank Sinatra paid for the school’s band uniforms in 1962. You can see one on display at the Grand Theater!
