The artist, Thomas Cole (1801-1848) was a self-taught landscape painter that emigrated to the United States from England at the age of 18. He founded the Hudson River Valley school of art, which focused on romanticized, hyper-detailed landscapes of the American countryside. 

This image comes as a high-quality fine art print with a white border.
