This "Choirs of Angels" Note Card shows each of the nine choirs of angels in concentric rings around God, the Lord of Hosts. This was drawn in St. Hildegard von Bingen's work "Scivias", the first of three books chronicling her visions.

The Angels are divided into three different spheres, according to their hierarchy around God.

The First sphere are those who are closest to God: the Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones.

The Second Sphere holds those who govern lower angels and maintain the physical order of creation: the Dominions, Virtues, and Powers.

The Third Sphere holds those who guide, protect, and speak to men, and nations: the Principalities, Archangels, and Angels.

St. Hildegard von Bingen is a Doctor of the Church from the 11th century. She was a Benedictine mystic, theologian, philosopher, musician, poet, artist, natural scientist, and pharmacist and is considered the founder of scientific natural history in Germany.

Printed on heavy warm white linen cover, these 4.25"x5.5" cards come with envelopes, and can be bought in bundles of 6.
