This reproduction of "The Confession of St. Longinus" shows the moment right after the Roman soldier pierced Our Lord with his spear. Blood and water came out from Jesus' side, then looking upon him he said, "Indeed this man was the son of God" (Mark 15:39), and converted to the faith.

The artist, James Tissot was a French painter in the 1800s who was raised Catholic but spent much of his early career painting pretty women. Later in life he returned to his faith, traveled to the Holy Land, and spent his remaining few years doing watercolor/gouache bible illustrations. He died in 1902 at the young age of 65. He is best known and most widely acclaimed for his bible illustrations.

This image comes as a fine art print with a white border.

Image dimensions are 10.5"x17"
