This icon plaque, The Eucharist by Francisco Zurbaran, comes from the Cloister Collection, Catholic to the Max's exclusive line of wood slab icons.

 

The image shows the Eucharist in a monstrance being adored by two Angels and several Cherubim; it is estimated to date around 1650. Francisco Zurbaran was a Spanish baroque artist of the 17th century. He was famous for his religious works and use of chiaroscuro, earning him the nickname the "Spanish Caravaggio".
